Ben Vallack and Chris Parnell's collaboration birthed SetSeed, defying distance to bring their shared vision to life

Ben Vallack's obsession with workflow and optimization permeates every aspect of his life. He even shares his daily insights on both through his dedicated YouTube channel.

For someone passionate about fixing inefficient workflows, a web design and content management system for agencies becomes the perfect playground. Often, web designers find themselves battling outdated software or troubleshooting issues when attempting to update open source installations packed with numerous plugins from different developers. This not only affects the designers but also negatively impacts the end user experience for customers managing their websites.

Interestingly, Chris, a web design agency owner in New Zealand, shared the same vision of solving these problems. His relentless passion for design and user experience led him to discover an early version of Ben's product, built in his garage in Wiltshire.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Together, Ben and Chris transformed their shared vision into a fully-featured, self-hosted, white label web design platform that revolutionizes the agency experience. Their creation boasts a cohesive design language, providing all the necessary functionality for end users without relying on plugins. The platform caters to agencies, their staff, and their customers, elevating their web design experience to new heights.

Speaking as someone who has run a couple of businesses building websites on top of Sitecore etc here's a few observations after SetSeed's Chris Parnell just gave me "The Demo”…

  1. I have no idea how just two guys (two!) could produce such a broad, deep and new category-creating product. If Chris had told me there was a team of 10 behind it I would have been seriously impressed.
  2. I think SetSeed is going to be a game-changer for creative agencies revenue model-wise whilst also
enabling them to move away from the WordPress plug-in nightmare.
  3. I also think it's going to be a game-changer for some companies (i.e. non agencies) currently paying eye-watering licensing fees to the likes of Adobe and Sitecore etc.

What a great way to end the week - thanks Chris!
